Checklist 02
Leave the Vape at Home
Your vape can cost more than the trip. Thailand bans vapes outright, tourists included. One beach session was reportedly a 40,000 baht lesson.

-
The rule
Banned. Not "discouraged".
Bringing in, selling and owning e-cigarettes is illegal. Pods and liquids count. Arrest is possible.
It's not a no-smoking sign. It's a law.
-
Tourists too
Your passport doesn't protect you.
Fines can run to several times the item's value, and jail is possible. "Everyone does it" is not a defence.
Watch who gets stopped, not who vapes
-
The 40,000 story
40,000 baht for a beach puff.
Early 2026: two British tourists, a reported 40,000 baht fine and a warning of up to 5 years next time.
That was the friendly version
-
Street sales
On sale doesn't mean legal.
You will see vapes sold in Patong. Buy one and you're the guy holding the illegal thing, not him.
Skip it. Buy gum.
-
Pack smart
Empty your bag at home.
Check every pocket, pouch and carry-on for vapes, pods and liquids before you fly. Customs will.
The airport is a bad place to find out
